Quick answer

Dentrah is cloud dental clinic software that Indian clinics can use to run appointments, patient records, dental charting, treatment plans, prescriptions and billing in rupees, on web, Android and iOS. Paid plans cost about ₹310 or about ₹690 per clinic per month after a free first month. It does not process UPI, has no ABDM integration or GST module, and clinic data is not hosted in India.

Who it suits in India

Dentrah fits private dental clinics that are paid directly by patients and want the clinical and financial record in one place: single-dentist practices, clinics with associate or visiting dentists, and owners running more than one branch. If you run a single-chair practice, dental software for solo dentists covers that set-up in detail.

It is a weaker fit for clinics whose work depends on government schemes or empanelments that require ABDM, clinics that want patients to pay by UPI inside the software, and clinics that must keep patient data on servers in India.

How a patient visit flows through Dentrah

  1. Appointment or walk-in. The front desk books the patient against a doctor and time slot, or adds them to the live queue, and can send a one-tap WhatsApp reminder.
  2. Examination and charting. Findings are recorded on the 32-tooth odontogram. See dental charting and odontogram software.
  3. Treatment plan. Procedures are priced from the clinic's own price list in rupees, with notes on the plan and each procedure (how to write dental clinical notes).
  4. Prescription. Printed on the clinic letterhead.
  5. Invoice and payment. Itemised bill, discounts per line, part payments and the outstanding balance. See what a dental invoice should show.
  6. Doctor share. Associate commission calculated per invoice line on net. See dental doctor commission calculation.

Billing in rupees and paying for Dentrah

Set the clinic currency to INR and every invoice, payment, report and doctor payout uses rupees. Plans are priced per clinic, not per user:

GST and dental invoices

Under Notification No. 12/2017-Central Tax (Rate), health care services by a clinical establishment or an authorised medical practitioner are exempt from GST, and the notification's definition of health care excludes cosmetic procedures except where they restore or reconstruct function. In practice, most clinical dental treatment is billed without GST, while purely cosmetic work and goods sold separately may be taxable.

Dentrah has no GST module, so it does not calculate tax on taxable items or produce GST returns. Our guide to GST on dental treatment in India sets out the rules with official sources; confirm your clinic's position with a chartered accountant.

UPI and patient payments

Many patients in India pay by UPI. Dentrah does not collect UPI payments or connect to a payment gateway: the clinic takes payment as it does today, then records it against the invoice so the balance and reports stay correct.

ABDM and ABHA

Dentrah is not integrated with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and cannot create or link ABHA numbers. If your clinic needs ABDM for scheme work or empanelment, this is a deciding factor today.

Where clinic data is stored

Data is held in the cloud on dedicated servers, not on a computer in the clinic, and it is not hosted in India. Each clinic account is isolated and every staff member has an individual login with per-module permissions. How the platform is built is described on the cloud dental software technology page.

Getting started and support

  • Nothing to install: it runs in a web browser, with Android and iOS apps. Dentrah runs on the jDent dental practice platform. Your clinic account opens at app.jdentclinic.com and the mobile app is listed as jDent in the app stores.
  • Free first month: every feature unlocked, no credit card.
  • Existing records: can be imported from spreadsheets or another system, with no import fee. Share a sample first so you know what transfers cleanly.
  • Support: remote, in English, over WhatsApp and email, Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM IST; replies within one working day.

Everything Dentrah does not do today

  • Does not process UPI payments or connect to an Indian payment gateway; it records how the patient paid.
  • No ABDM or ABHA integration.
  • No GST tax module. Most dental treatment is GST-exempt under SAC 9993; cosmetic procedures and goods can be taxable and are not calculated.
  • Clinic data is not hosted in India.
  • Support is provided remotely, in English, over WhatsApp and email, Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM IST. There is no in-person or on-site support.
  • The software interface and voice dictation are in English.
  • Not yet available: patient self-booking and a patient-facing app.
  • Not yet available: automated bulk SMS or WhatsApp sending (reminders are sent by staff, one tap at a time).

Questions from Indian dental clinics

Yes. The billing currency is part of the clinic profile, so a clinic that sets INR sees rupees on invoices, payments, reports and doctor payouts. Plans are priced per clinic per month in rupees.

No. Dentrah does not process UPI or connect to an Indian payment gateway. The clinic collects payment the way it already does and records the payment against the invoice as cash, card or bank transfer.

No. There is no ABDM or ABHA integration. A clinic that needs ABDM linking for government schemes or empanelment will not have that requirement met today. Private clinics that do not use those schemes are usually not affected.

No. Dentrah has no GST tax module. Health care services by a clinical establishment are exempt under Notification 12/2017-Central Tax (Rate), but cosmetic procedures and goods can be taxable, and the software will not compute that tax. Confirm your clinic's position with a chartered accountant.

No. Clinic data is stored in the cloud on dedicated servers, not on a computer in the clinic, and it is not hosted in India. If your clinic has an India data-residency requirement, take that into account before signing up.

Support is remote, in English, over WhatsApp and email, Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM IST. Enquiries are answered within one working day. There is no on-site support.

Yes. Each staff member gets an individual login with per-module permissions, doctor commission is calculated per invoice line, and one account can hold several branches with reports across them.

There is nothing to install: Dentrah runs in a web browser and on Android and iOS. A clinic can sign up for the free first month, add its doctors, procedures and prices, and import existing records without an import fee.
